The woolshed has helped to forge our national character and identity, it looms large in folklore. From the grandest to the smallest, every woolshed has helped write our nation's story.
One of Australia’s foremost rural documentary photographers Andrew Chapman, has for the last 40 years or so, has been taking pictures of woolsheds and other elements of the wool industry in Australia and New Zealand.
More than 20,000 copies were sold of the first volume of Woolsheds, published in 2012. Now with the wool industry in the midst of a new boom, Chapman has teamed up with Ten Bag Press and Tim Lee, a hugely-respected reporter on the ABC’s Landline program, to release Woolsheds: Volume 2.
This latest volume is packed with stunning pictures and engaging stories about woolsheds, woolgrowers, shearers and rouseabouts in Australia, along with an additional section on New Zealand.
