The map is at a scale of 1:500,000 and covers the whole of the Innamincka regional reserve north and east of Moomba. All important and interesting features are numerically cross referenced to more information on the reverse of the map,

There are insets of Coongie Lakes, Moomba region and Innamincka plus a detailed route map of Burke & Wills' journey from Melbourne to the Gulf of Carpentaria. Accompanying the Burke & Wills route map are details of all historic localities and incidents associated with their trek.

Facility symbols include Rest Areas, Camping, Caravan Parks and Fuel. All roads and tracks on the main maps have intermediate distances.
