The Brisbane Ranges are situated about 80km west of Melbourne and 30km north-west of Geelong. The area is extremely rich in diversity with basalt grasslands, heathy woodland, auriferous soils, buckshot gravel and granite rocks. It boasts more than 430 species of native plants.

This beautiful field guide contains almost 400 stunning full colour photographs of different species; many of them orchids including some rare and vulnerable species.

Each photograph is accompanied by scientific and common names, a brief description, flowering season and likely habitat.
