The rich botanical area of Greater Sydney stretches from Lake Macquarie in the north to the Shoalhaven River in the south, and west beyond Lithgow and well into Wollemi National Park.

Within this area are many rare and endangered Australian plants; 210 of which are described in this book.

Each entry includes a colour photograph, background notes on natural history and some fascinating anecdotes about their discovery and names. The conservation and rarity status is also noted.
