Warburton Australia's Most Beautiful Town |
Warburton is a modest little town
which we think has a big claim as Australia's most beautiful town. t is situated in the narrow Yarra River Valley and flanked on all sides by towering mountains with the Yarra River (still as a mountain stream) flowing swiftly through the middle of town. The Warburton Waterwheel Visitor Information Centre (pictured to the right) is situated on the high side of the main street right in the centre of Warburton township. Behind the Information Centre is the popular Warburton Rail Trail. The Visitor Information Centre has a good range of maps and guide books for the Yarra Valley and surrounding mountain country to choose from. |

The Warburton Caravan & Camping Park is more than just another Caravan Park. Situated on the banks of the Yarra River with lovely mountain scenery, the park is an ideal family camping venue. The Centenary Trail (an extension of the Warburton Rail Trail) passes through the park and is an ideal easy walking and cycling track. |

Travel Tip |
| There are many riverside walking tracks in Warburton township. Foot bridges and road bridges enable easy access to both sides of the river. For a walk with a difference, try the Centenary Trail through the Caravan Park. Locate the trail at the main highway road bridge across the Yarra River immediately on the township side of the Acheron Way turnoff. Follow the trail along the riverside parkland and through the caravan park, staying close to the river. Once past the caravan park, the trail enters a patch of bushland. After a while, as the bush and the quiet sounds of the river begin to dominate, you will get the feeling you could be in some remote forest, far away from civilisation. Unfortunately, after about 1 kilometre of remote bushwalking, you will emerge at the Woods Point Road. |
