Bullocky Bill's Cafe is part of the new development
beside the Hume Highway at the famous 'Dog on The Tuckerbox' monument,
'five miles from Gundagai'. The spacious Cafe serves dine-in or take-away meals and has a large range of preserves, home produce and oils for sale. Adjoining the cafe is a fresh fruit and vegetable store. The Cafe also provides tourist information and has a well-stocked stand of maps and books for sale. |
| The 'Dog on the Tuckerbox' has been made famous by poem and song. It is alleged that the original poet's version told the story of a teamster's dog which s..t on the tucker box thus spoiling the food inside. (As told in a booklet titled 'The True Story of Gundagai's 'Dog on the Tuckerbox Monument' issued by the Gundagai District Hospital and available at the Cafe). |

Gundagai has more to offer than a dog sitting on a tuckerbox such as these amazing old bridges across the Murrumbidgee River flats. The historic trestle bridges can be viewed from Gundagai township or at South Gundagai. |
