Stay a while at the WILPENA POUND TOURIST RESORT
	Wilpena Pound Resort is situated at the entrance to Wilpena Pound, -- a plain situated inside the circle of mountains pictured. The resort offers a full range of accommodation from camping to deluxe motel rooms. The Visitor Centre includes a supermarket, gift shop and fuel station plus a staffed specialist Information Centre. A range of maps and books are available at the Information Centre.

	The walking track from Wilpena to St Mary's Peak is one of the most spectacular (and hardest) walks in the Flinders Ranges. Allow a full day and take plenty of refreshments and a hat.
There are many scenic roads within easy driving distance of Wilpena Pound resort such as this road near Hookina.
Travel Tip
When visiting Wilpena Pound, don't miss Stokes Hill Lookout, a few kilometres north of the Wilpena turnoff on the Blinman Road. The lookout offers a panoramic view of the ranges surrounding as part of a 360 degree vista of the immediate area. This view is looking away from the pound on a stormy evening.
