Forlonge Memorial From Merton follow the Euroa road to the Strathbogie turnoff (Galls Gap Road). One kilometre down Galls Gap Road turn left into Forlonge Memorial Road. The memorial is about 2 kilometres on your right. The memorial recognises Eliza Forlonge and Janet Templeton who brought the first fine wool sheep to Victoria in 1835. Apart from the history lesson, you will be rewarded with some good views of the Mount Wombat Range, part of the Strathbogie Ranges. |
