Gateway to the Blue Mountains

Bushwalking is popular recreation around Springwood. Tracks of varying length and grade lead from the town to places such as Fairy Dell, Lawsons Lookout, Sassafras Gully and Clarinda Falls. A few 'not to be missed' attractions in The Blue Mountains

The Three Sisters, near Katoomba, not far from Springwood, is one of the most recognisable and photographed features in the Blue Mountains.

The Scenic Skyway The Scenic Zig Zag Railway

The Scenic Skyway at Scenic World, near Katoomba, is the only passenger carrying horizontal cable car in the Southern Hemisphere. Also at Scenic World is The Sceniscender, which is the steepest cable car in the Australia, takes people on a three minute, 545 metre ride down into the rainforest.

This is a wonderful  historic tourist railway, originally operating from 1869 to 1910.
The Zig Zag is a series of gently sloping ramps
passing through 2 tunnels and over 3 magnificent sandstone viaducts.

It is open daily, except Christmas day.
