MERIMBULA VISITOR INFORMATION CENTRE Beach Street, Merimbula
The Merimbula Visitor Information Centre is located right
on the waterfront in Beach Street. They have lots of information on all things to do with tourism and touring around Merimbula and The Sapphire Coast Region. You can also book an organised tour or be referred to appropriate accommodation. The Information Centre has a well-stocked map and book stand. |
| Merimbula has lakes, beaches, rocky coastlines and quiet coves. One of the best spots to visit is the historic wharf complex. There you can visit an aquarium, have a meal or cup of coffee, try a bit of fishing or just sit back and enjoy the amazing views. |
One of the more popular beaches is Short Point Beach where you can walk around the grassy slopes of Short Point, enjoy the beach or explore Back Lagoon and its waterbirds. The lagoon is situated immediately behind the sandy beach. |
An easy drive north of Merimbula takes you to the
pretty township of Tathra. The many anglers in this photo are enjoying the last hour of autumn sunlight on the historic Tathra wharf. |

Travel Tip |
Everywhere you go around Merimbula you will see
people walking. They are walking for fitness, walking for a healthy
lifestyle, walking for enjoyment and walking to explore new places. So join
in the Merimbula lifestyle and go for a short walk. Turn off the Princes Highway at Pambula to Pambula Beach and follow the main road through to the boat ramp. There you will find a superb river estuary at the mouth of the Pambula River where this photo is taken. |
