Merimbula is situated in the heart of the Sapphire Coast.
With its lakes, surf beaches and rugged rocky coastlines, it has something
for everyone. This photo is at 'The Fishpen' from where charter and whale watching cruises depart. This is a good starting point for a short walk around the entrance to the surf beach and back to The Fishpen via a track across the dunes. |

This six kilometre long, wide surf beach stretches from Merimbula south to Pambula. With firm sand to the waters edge, it is an ideal beach for long or short walks in (almost) any weather. |
| Just across the road from Merimbula Newsagency is the waterfront. Jetties jut out into Merimbula Lake. Anglers can usually be seen occupying a prime position at the end of one of those jetties and there is always a variety of watercraft moored nearby in the lake's quiet waters. |
