Mathoura Tourist & Business Centre: www.ctc.nsw.gov.au

Mathoura Tourist & Business Centre is situated beside the Cobb Highway in Mathoura township.

The Centre, known as Redgum Branch, operates as a Community Transaction Centre in addition to offering tourist information to visitors.

The Main Street of Mathoura is parallel to the Highway, one street back. It is a leafy main street with several interesting shops and hotels.

Within easy reach of Mathoura township are the vast red gum forests and wetlands of the Murray River system.

This walkway leads to a bird hide and lookout over the Gulpa Creek marsh and wetlands.

There are some outstanding picnic, camping and touring options within the forest.

Gulpa Creek flows adjacent to Mathoura Township. Once you cross a narrow footbridge across the creek you are in the Redgum forests. A walking track links several bridges across the creek passing some interesting features along the way.

Travel Tip

Apart from the forests, there are some interesting touring options around Mathoura. To gain an idea of the surrounding rural lands and history of the localities, try a half-day round trip to the east of Mathoura along sealed roads via Bunnaloo, Womboota (pictured left), Pericoota (pictured right) and Moama.
