MYSTIC MOUNTAINS INFORMATION CENTRE

MARYSVILLE

How it was before 7 February 2009

The Information Centre provides tourist information for touring destinations such as Lake Mountain, Big River, Cumberland Scenic Reserve, Cathedral Range, Lady Talbot Drive and Steavensons Falls in addition to bushwalks, and accommodation.

They also have a well stocked map and book stand for you browse over.

Adjacent to the Information Centre is Gallipoli Park, with its lake, fountain, river, and historic relics from Marysville's past including the former police station (pictured) which is now used the the Marysville & District Historical Society.

Two more reasons to visit Marysville:

Lake Mountain transforms itself from a winter playground where cross-country skiing and toboganning are popular to a bushwalker's delight in late spring when the small snow plains around Echo Flat put on a wonderful display of wildflowers.

Steavensons Falls are always at their cascading best. An easy walking track leads 300 metres from a car park to the base of the falls.

The falls can also be seen after dark as they are floodlit from dusk until midnight every night.
