Mallacoota's lake is something special. Beside the lake are spacious picnic and foreshore camping areas. Take a scenic drive alongside the lake, go for a cruise to the old Spotted Dog Gold Mine, or walk into the Narrows. Within Croajingolong National Park, not far from the township are a number of secluded picnic areas on the lake's shores. The mountain ranges on view across the lake are part of the remote Cape Howe Wilderness, popular with experienced bushwalkers. |

You can't get much closer to the water's edge than these campers in the Mallacoota foreshore camping area. Note the boat mooring facilities. |

The most tranquil time on the lakes is at sunrise as the sun about to appear over the distant Howe Range. |

The sign on the side of the hut says 'Boat Hire' but don't worry, the boat in the foreground is not what you get. Instead you will be provided with a modern motor boat, ideal for exploring the quiet waterways of Mallacoota Inlet. |
