Save Wildlife Centre, Healesville |

Healesville is situated at the foot of Australia's Great Dividing Range. The township is almost surrounded by the mountains. Save Wildlife Centre is a non-profit organisation. They have a book shop and bargain centre in the main street of Healesville's shopping centre. The aim of Save Wildlife Centre is to raise funds to contribute towards the purchase of land dedicated to the preservation of Australian wildlife. The shop also has a well-stocked map stand with local bushwalking, touring and 4WD maps. |

Healesville has a very attractive main street, ideal for walking and browsing in the variety of shops lining the street. Here and there you will find a peaceful spot among leafy trees and parkland. |

Mount Riddell is just one of the many mountains around Healesville. The mountain is within Melbourne's restricted Water Catchment area; however, pedestrian access is permitted to the summit via a management vehicle track. |

| Healesville is also surrounded by many fine streams that provide Melbourne with some of the purest water on Earth. Weirs exist on most of the main streams including this one on the Graceburn. |

The association recently
provided the Australian Bush Heritage Fund with $250,000 to purchase
and manage the Judith Eardley Save Wildlife
Reserve at Wedderburn, Central Victoria. This Reserve contains Flora and Fauna existent prior to White settlement. Currently only 7 percent of the original vegetation survives in Victoria. They also paid $325,000 for a 50 acre bushland reserve at Yellingbo in the Yarra Valley. |
