|
Euston is a small town on the New South Wales side of the
Murray River opposite Robinvale. The Sturt Highway, a main thoroughfare
between Sydney and Adelaide passes through Euston. The nearest town along
the highway is Balranald 80km to the east while Mildura is 82km west. Berrett's Service Station at Euston stocks a good variety of touring maps. It is also a good spot to tank up before tackling the next part of your journey. |
|
Berrett Memorial Park is a quiet nook beside the Murray River. Here you can relax for a moment and enjoy the river scenery. The park was named after C.J. Berrett, grandfather of the proprietors of the Service Station. Mr. Berrett senior was actively involved in community activities and this park was where he taught many Euston youngsters to swim. he also kept the small park neat and tidy and tended to the plants. |

Boating enthusiasts come to Euston to enjoy the broad
river reaches. This view is immediately upstream of the town.
Birdwatchers can find plenty of interesting species in and around the the river and lagoons. Bushwalkers and four-wheel drivers can follow bush tracks deep into the adjacent state forest and photographers will find something new around every bend. There is plenty for all to see and do at Euston. |
