Cann River Cafe at the turn off to the Monaro and Canberra |

|
Cann River Cafe at the junction of the Princes and Monaro Highways is a great place to stop for a bite to eat, coffee or other refreshments. They also have a good selection of maps to choose from including local maps for touring and four-wheel driving. |

Wingan Inlet, a little over an hours drive from Cann River along a reasonably well maintained gravel forest road, makes an idyllic camping spot beside the inlet's sheltered waters. An easy walking track leads to an unspoilt ocean beach. |

About 45 kilometres from Cann River along a gravel forest road is the Point Hicks lighthouse surrounded by Croajingolong National Park. Limited accommodation is available at the lighthouse. Ask at the Parks Victoria office for details. Alternatively take a tent and stay in the Thurra River Camping Area next to the lighthouse reserve. |

Elusive Lake is a 6km walk from West Wingan Road.
Surrounded by bush with white sandy beaches, the lake makes a great picnic lunch destination for keen walkers but, when walking through Croajingolong National Park, keep an eye out for those nasty little paralysis ticks. A day after taking this photograph, the photographer found a tick well-embedded in his scalp. It took a very painfull extraction to rid him of the parasite. |
