The Tambo River flows out of the mountain ranges around Swifts Creek and Omeo. It makes its way through a mix of farm land and forested ranges to reach the Gippsland Lakes near Swan Reach.

Break your journey and enjoy a glimpse of what Bruthen has to offer.
Locate the East Gippsland Rail Trail at the rear of the shopping centre and follow it to the railway bridge across the Tambo River for the great view of the river as shown above. It will only take twenty minutes or so to visit the bridge and return.
