described with notes on environment, events of the past, geology,
landforms, soil and climatic conditions.
All 900 described species are illustrated and accompanied by a
distribution map with descriptive information, more than 300 colour
photographs and 160 black & white photos plus line drawings of important
identification features. There is a
brief description of places of special interest as well as eight different
regional guide lists.
