WESTERN AUSTRALIA GEOLOGICAL MAPS
TWO SCALES; 1:250,000 & 1:100,000
![]() |
The 1:250,000
series of Geological Maps covers all of Western Australia at 1cm to 2.5 km.
Features include Geological Structure, Mineral Deposits including gold locations and mining symbols (abandoned and current) as well as grey base topographic features. Topographic detail is a bit hard to follow and it is advised to supplement these maps with the 1:250,000 topogaphic maps. Each Geological 1:250,000 map has an equivalent topographic title. The WA Geological map series is a good series for both the serious and casual prospector. |

The 1:100,000
Geological Map series has spasmodic coverage across the state, mainly in
active mining and exploration areas. They are the most detailed published
maps available. The clarity of detail is exceptional. Scale is 1cm to 1km.
The maps carry all the features of the 1:250,000 scale maps but with better 'pin-point' accuracy and increased information in areas with a density of detail. They are also more up to date and show even more mining features than the smaller scale series. Highly recommended for the serious prospector. |
