Each name in blue represents 1 X 1:250,000 Scale map area. (1cm = 2.5km)

Each labelled & 4 digit numbered square equals 1 X 1:100,000 Scale Topographic Map. e.g: Couchman 4167. (1cm = 1km)

i.e: there are normally 6 X 1:100,000 Scale maps for every 1:250,000 scale map area.

1:50,000 The Ultimate Detail

Almost the whole of the Kimberley region is now also available at 1:50,000 Scale. To identify the 1:50,000 scale map areas, simply divide each 1:100,000 scale into 4 equal quarters and number each quarter from 1 to 4 in a clockwise direction.

i.e: 4167-1 for the top-right hand quarter of the Couchman 1:100,000 scale map; 4167-2 for the bottom right-hand quarter; 4167-3 for bottom left; and 4167-4 for top right. etc.

Each quarter represents a 1:50,000 scale map (1cm = 0.5km).
