Mt. Paris Dam

Only one of its kind in Australia

During the boom time of tin mining in Tasmania the Mt. Paris Dam was constructed. It has now become part of our mining heritage as it is the only one of its design in Australia.

It was built not far from Derby in Tasmania's North East. Until recently this dam was little known about, but due to the work of Bill Deacon it has now become a tourist attraction. One stands in awe as you gaze at this giant structure, built by our pioneers without the help of modern machinery
